Edgar Update

Well, Edgar had surgery & is back home. His foot looks pretty gross! We still love him though! Me & Ang dropped him off Wednesday morning, & were supposed to get him that night. But the vet called & said he needed to spend the night. So on Thursday morning, I went & picked him up.

He is doing pretty good. Kind of depressed... He really wants to go outside, but we can't let him. I think that makes it worse for him. He has also been chewing at his stitches, so we made him a little bootie to wear (notice his tongue sticking out above...). Edgar doesn't like it much! My mom thinks we should call him Spock because it looks like he is doing the Vulcan salute (in case you were wondering, I had to use google to see what that was called...) from Star Trek. Anyways, I'll keep you posted! He goes back in on Monday for a follow up. The end.

Edgar

Edgar has had a swollen front paw since Thursday so yesterday, we finally took him to the vet (see above picture). We would have taken him sooner, but it was the weekend & then a holiday. It just was bad timing.... Anyways, so the vet wanted to take some x-rays because he thought he maybe had a fracture in his foot. So they took him back for the x-rays while me & Ang waited. When they finally brought him back they had shaved between two of his toes because he had a big lesion. It was pretty gross. Apparently another cat bit his foot & that was why it was initially swollen.

Then they showed us his x-rays. First let me tell you, he has adorable little bones in his leg & foot. Second, he had a broken toe. Completely broken. As in, the end little bone was totally severed from the rest of his foot. He had a little floating bone. So then the vet tells us they have to amputate his toe & remove the bone. Gross! Poor little guy.

Now, you might be wondering how he broke his toe, right? Obviously, there is no way of telling exactly how it happened... but that doesn't mean I don't have a theory! On Saturday, my dad stepped on his foot... & I think that is how it broke. Makes sense, don't you think? Anyways, we went & dropped little Edgar off this morning for surgery. I'll let you know how it goes! We've been calling him Clubby, because his foot was all swollen & looked like a club, and now we will have to call him Stubby. Heh heh.

Lucille Victoria DeMarco

7 lbs 2 oz, 18 inches long

Lucille Victoria DeMarco was born today around 2:15pm. Her parents are Michael & Emilie DeMarco. Emilie was due September 5 & had a doctors appointment this morning. At her appointment, she was surprised to find she was already dilated to a 9! After her doctor laughed because she was unaware she was in labor, they drove her straight to the hospital.

Little Lucy is beautiful, & we are glad to finally meet her! Welcome to the world!

Sunset, Utah Lake, & Ang

Last night, Ang & I headed out to Utah Lake to do some longboarding & take some photos. The sky was amazing! I have been trying to work on my portraiture, but so far I'm not too impressed with myself. Practice makes perfect, right? Angie is a pretty good sport, but she doesn't really like being in front of the camera.

We only met one creepy guy, which is a bonus! I've had multiple bad experiences down there at night. He just sat near us, drinking a beer, watching us out of the corner of his eye. Not too bad, all-in-all. Anyways, enjoy.

Pete's Bday

Peter turned a year old a few weeks back. We had a little family get together up at the cabin to celebrate. It was a lot of fun! It's strange... In a way it seems crazy that Peter is turning one, yet it almost seems like we've had him forever! He is such a cute little guy. He is also tiny! Skinny & tall, according to the doctor, just like his dad. Anyways, happy birthday Peter! Here are a few random shots from that weekend.

I don't recall what made Ang laugh... Must have been funny!

Cassie was wearing her party hat at a really strange angle. It gives it character I guess!

For some reason, Cassie really wanted Rocco to have the leaf she was holding.

The following few pictures are of the sunset on 6 August 2009. It was a really gorgeous night!

Abandoned Race Track

Back in the day, my family used to race go karts at a track just off Geneva Road. They eventually closed the track, & started racing up in Salt Lake. Anyhow, I had to take some photos for my class & figured that would be a good place to go. Me, Ang, & my Mom drove out there. Strangely enough, they never took down any of the buildings, stands, fences, or awnings. It was so overgrown! There were trees taller than me!

So we walked around the outside for a bit & eventually found a place in the fence that we could get through. We followed the track for a bit, but it was kind of freaky. It was so dense, you couldn't see more than a few feet out, & we could hear stuff moving. There ended up being some deer living in there.

We also stopped off at a few places. Mainly, Utah Lake. Too bad it wasn't cloudy. Those are the best kind of days. Well that's all. Oh, I am obsessed with power lines. Photographing them anyways. Hhmmm.....the end.
