Abandoned Race Track

Back in the day, my family used to race go karts at a track just off Geneva Road. They eventually closed the track, & started racing up in Salt Lake. Anyhow, I had to take some photos for my class & figured that would be a good place to go. Me, Ang, & my Mom drove out there. Strangely enough, they never took down any of the buildings, stands, fences, or awnings. It was so overgrown! There were trees taller than me!

So we walked around the outside for a bit & eventually found a place in the fence that we could get through. We followed the track for a bit, but it was kind of freaky. It was so dense, you couldn't see more than a few feet out, & we could hear stuff moving. There ended up being some deer living in there.

We also stopped off at a few places. Mainly, Utah Lake. Too bad it wasn't cloudy. Those are the best kind of days. Well that's all. Oh, I am obsessed with power lines. Photographing them anyways. Hhmmm.....the end.

The Fray & Other Tidbits

I just took all the pictures off my phone & decided to post a few of them. They are all mainly from the Fray concert me, Ang, Emilie, & my mom went to on Saturday night. It was amazing! Seriously one of the best shows I have ever been too. They played with Jack's Mannequin, and they were fantastic. I had heard of them before, but never listened to their music. They are way talented!

I took my small camera with us to the show, but when I tried to take a picture it said 'battery exhausted'. So I had to rely on my iPhone to take all of the pictures. I completely love my phone, but hate that the camera doesn't zoom. Huge downer. So I am sorry for how low quality they are!

The Fray were great. All six bandmates had the tiniest little legs I have ever seen! They were so skinny! And the guitar player was mega-short. It cracked me up. Anyways, worst part of the night was when they came back on stage for an encore. During the first song, someone from the audience threw their drink on stage. Can you say trashy? I felt way bad. You could tell it hit the drummer & guitarist. Poor guys. Well, all-in-all it was a fun night.

The sky outside the theater at Jordan Commons forever ago. Way pretty...too bad about the camera angle!

Em, on the way to the Fray. She was pretty excited!

Ang & Em at the Fray. Angie looks stoned!

The best dessert in the entire world! It is at CPK, I went there the other night with Cali & Ang.

Wolf Creek

Well another year at Wolf Creek has come & gone. Crazy how fast time goes! Wolf Creek is a time share that my family has up in Eden, Utah. My grandpa originally owned it & we started going up when I was like three. Anyways, now we own it. We get it the last week of June every year. I love going up there. This is the first year in ages that I was able to go up for the entire week.

It is such a beautiful area. Eden is up Ogden canyon, just above Pineview Reservoir. There is a ton to do in the area. Obviously you can go boating, there are tons of trails (good for longboarding, although we never quite had time for it), & great hiking. We generally just end up hanging out at the pool all week. We all got mega-sunburned, even using SPF 50.

This year, me, my mom, Angie, Adam, Sandy, Cassie, & Peter went up. My brother, Adam, always wants to do a lot of activities, to keep the kids occupied, so we did a lot of random stuff. We rode the FrontRunner down to Gateway, and went to the Planeterium one day. Another day, we went down to a kids museum called Treehouse. Cassie & Peter had a lot of fun. To be honest, I actually enjoyed it too! It had quite a few little art projects, & I am a sucker for those. Plus me & my mom got to play a game of giant chess. That was awesome!

We also spent one of the days at Lagoon. I honestly cannot remember the last time I went there. So that was fun for different! Generally we just let Cassie ride on the kiddie rides, but we were able to go with her on the log ride & rattlesnake rapids (and get soaked of course). Then me, Adam, & Ang rode Wicked, & the Spider. Both were newer rides we had never been on. Wicked was my personal favorite. So other than the fact it was way too hot, it was a pretty fun day.

One afternoon, we all walked down to a little park area above the pool, and played some games. They had a tether ball there, & we played a few rounds of that. I have actually never played that game, however I have seen it at the end of 'Napoleon Dynamite'! Anyways, I'm not sure if we are too old to play that game or something, but it was way painful! The ball was like a rock! The next day, we all woke up with bruised hands, wrists, & forearms. It was pretty intense. Needless to say, I will think twice before trying that game again!

On Thursday, 2 July 2009, my mom, sister, & I headed back home for the day. My brother Michael, was leaving for the Ultimate Adventure & we all wanted to see him off. We were also able to help him out by running some errands for him. After he took off, my mom & Ang headed back up to Wolf Creek. I had photography class that night with Cali, so I stayed for that. When it was over, Cal & I drove back up.

It was so fun having Cali up there with us. I was glad she was able to go! We basically went to bed when we got there Thursday night, & then on Friday spent the day at the pool. Friday night we went to the movie, 'My Sister's Keeper' (yes we all cried a lot, good thing Cali brought each of us a pack of kleenex!) & then we went to dinner at the Timbermine Resturaunt. It is a steak house, so my sister & I just get dinner salads & a baked potato. Pretty delicious! Played a few games & then hit the sack. On Saturday, we got up, got ready, & checked out. Cali headed off to her Aunts' house & the rest of us headed home. Hooray for Wolf Creek!
